I first came up with this idea a few years ago for a Christmas stocking stuffer. These notepads are unique, very easy to make, and they sure get a lot of comments.
Simply attach the letter of choice in the upper corner of choice; rubber cement or Artist's Spray Adhesive works very well. I position my letters so that there is about 3/16" space from the adjacent edges of the paper. Another consideration is which end of the pad to put the letter on. I have found that if you place the letters on the end with the adhesive, the letters sometimes tear if you move the notes. Simply put the letters on the opposite end. All this means is that you pull the note towards you to remove it instead of lifting it away from you. When I cut my letters, I use a small screwdriver to hold the paper down next to the blade because the paper has a tendency to raise up during the cutting.
There are hundreds of alphabets that you can choose from. The link below has over a thousand fonts that you can download for free. I have found that about 9/16" to 5/8" is a nice height for the 3" x 3" notes.

I liked this one called Eco-Files. It will work real well for the scrollsaw.
