Scan the original pattern and then print it onto matt finish non permanent self adhesive paper which I then cut out with scissors or a craft knife and then fix  to the stock. It holds on beautifully, is easy to remove without leaving a residual skin of adhesive and I find can be picked up for no cost at the JAC paper manufacturers factory as end of run off-cuts.

 

This has been working very well for me when cutting fine flower petals and leaves etc.

 

As an added bonus, the scanned pattern can be saved for further use at a later time.
